UVOX Redox-500 CDThrough the chemical reaction of chlorine with organic material, such as urine, skin-particles, human fregances and sunblockers, chloramines will occur. Chloramines cause reddened eyes, skin irritations, allergies and an unpleasant chlorine smell.
Wapure International has developed an automatically working UV-Oxidation system (UVOX-500), which combines the oxidizing effect of OH-Radicals on combined Chlorine with the disinfecting effect of UV-Light in one device. The UVOX Systems guarantee crystal-clear and safe pool water as result of a triple disinfection.
In addition a PC measurement and control module (UVOX-CD1) was developed to operate the UVOX- system(s) and take over the control of the pool water.
How does the UVOX-Redox System operate?
Ozone
Ozone is created by the irradiation of ultraviolet light and is a natural disinfection and oxidation agent. By means of an especially for Wapure produced UV-lamp Oxygen is converted in Ozone and OH-radicals. This air mixture is injected again in the UVOX-500 system by means of a venturi device and again irradiated with UV-light. As result of this the oxidizing working of Ozone is accelerated and optimized. The OH-radicals break down chloramines and other dissolved matter.
UV-Light:
The ultraviolet light damages the DNA of the microorganisms. As a result, a highly effective disinfection is achieved. Most efficient disinfection is achieved by ultraviolet rays on a wavelength of 254 nm. As result of the irradiation of the air mixture the oxidation process is accelerated and optimized.
Very limited quantities of Chlor:
In order to maintain the residual disinfection in pools, the UVOX-Redox CD system doses very limited quantities of chlorine (0,1 to 0,3 mg per liter) into the pool to prevent the growth of e.g. algae’s. Chloramine are automatically broken down by the system and hereby all negative side-effects of chlorine are minimized.
PC measurement and control module UVOX-Redox CD 1 System:
A special PC measurement and control module was developed, which operates the UVOX-500 system(s) effectively and automatically takes over the control of the swimming water. The basic Kid (UVOX-Redox CD1) measures the Redox value at two points, operates the UVOX-500 System, monitors the pH-Value and injects automatically limited quantities of chlorine into the pool water, by means of a dosage pump.
In order to enlarge the life of the sensible sensors and to make the measurement more precise, Wapure International GmbH has developed two special T-junctions, which hold the sensors in a proper way.
In addition further modules can be connected, such as UV-monitor, oxygen module, temperature module, alarm function(s) on external display, laptop or mobile telephone.
Wapure International advices to install the highly sensible PC- technique in a pre-mounted mounting cabinet , which protects the system against weather influences and is lockable.
